Learn about becoming a Teen Museum Guide

What does a Teen Guide do?

Through tours, conversations, and interactive activities, Teen Guides help make our collections accessible and engaging for all visitors, providing a fresh perspective on the artworks and artifacts displayed.

The investment?

Your time, energy, and enthusiasm! This is a fantastic way to earn volunteer hours and gain invaluable experience in a museum setting.

Concerned that you know very little about art, history, or museums in general?

No worries! Our training program is tailored for high school students and covers all you need to know to interact confidently and knowledgably with museum visitors.

What makes an ideal Teen Guide?

Ideal candidates for this volunteer opportunity are:

  • Eager to share their passion for art and learning, ensuring the museum is an accessible and welcoming place for everyone.
  • Good at public speaking or willing to learn.
  • Flexible, dependable, highly motivated, and a team player.
  • Comfortable using devices like computers, tablets, and smartphones for communication and accessing digital content.
  • Able to stand and walk for the duration of a tour and navigate the museum, including stairs.

Interested in applying?

If you’re a high school student interested in art and looking to make a difference, we encourage you to apply. Join us to preserve and share the rich legacy of the museum while fulfilling community service requirements and gaining valuable skills.
