Adult Programs

Welcome, we’re excited to learn with you! Our adult education programs feature an array of lectures, talks, tours, workshops, and special opportunities to engage with all areas of our collections. Whether you are an art aficionado, circus lover, architecture buff, green thumb, or simply curious about what’s going on at The Ringling, there is an educational program for everyone.

Accessibility may vary by program, please inquire and request specific accommodations to [email protected]. We are happy to provide T-coil, ASL interpreters, language interpreters, mobility devices and support, tactile adaptations, and more upon request.

Viewpoint Lectures

Hear from experts, artists, and museum staff on topics related to our permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, grounds and gardens, and more! These traditional lectures are low cost and open to the public.

Gallery Talks

Offered on the first and third Tuesdays in season, Gallery Talks are led by museum staff, artists, or visiting scholars on a variety of topics. This program is held in the galleries and involves a 1-hour walking tour.

Collecting Recollections

Learn about circus history from those who lived it! This program features a 1-hour interview between museum staff and a member of the circus community who shares their unique perspectives and memories of life in the circus.

Lifelong Arts

Designed specifically for adults 55 and better, Lifelong Arts is a workshop series where older adults can learn a new artistic skill while developing connections with others. Workshops are offered periodically throughout the year and cover a range of topics inspired by The Ringling including visual arts, performance, spoken word, and history.

Ringling Reflections

Ringling Reflections programs are relaxed, conversation-based gallery tours in the Museum of Art for people with memory loss and their care partners. Following a 40-minute tour, all tour participants will create their own works of art inspired by artworks in the museum.

Symposia

As an academic art museum, The Ringling often organizes symposia on relevant topics to art history, Florida ecology, performance art, historic house interpretation, or circus history. The Wonder Symposium is an annual gathering of curious and awe-driven scholars, artists, community members, and art lovers to explore the concept of wonder in a museum context.

Guided Tours

The Education Department at The Ringling features over 100 volunteer guides who offer tours across the estate. Enhance your visit with a guided tour! Experience a Bayfront Gardens tour, explore multiple venues on The Legacy Tour, or enjoy public Museum of Art tours. Each tour provides a unique view into the diverse offerings of The Ringling.
